There goes eBay

I'm sure by now you've heard about the rumors that GameStop is trying to take over eBay. You know, the "video game store" that sells merch and Funko Pops and didn't go out of business because of some stupid Reddit stock market fuckery 5 years ago. Yeah, that GameStop. I don't know about company acquisitions or whatever, but I feel like is going to mark the end of eBay as a marketplace. They want eBay because of TCGplayer, which I didn't even know was a thing which eBay owns. Are we about to see the enshittification of a marketplace because of fucking Pokémon cards?

If eBay becomes unreliable, then that means the only options for buying old shit online will be Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji/Craigslist. I don't like Facebook at all and I don't want to do the whole ritual of negotiating for the purchase of a product. I just want an easy process where I'm not required to do fuckery unless if I have to. I guess there's thrift shops, but the one near me doesn't really sell technology except for peripherals I already have and crusty old CD players or whatever. They did sell a GameCube once.

No clue if eBay is actually going to go through GameStop's offer. I seriously hope not. Where the fuck are they getting that money from?
